Master's thesis

For my Master's thesis I developed Gut-Instincts, an ensemble-based biomedical NLP system for the GutBrainIE challenge at CLEF 2025.

The system combines multiple transformer-based biomedical language models with advanced techniques such as CRF layers, BiLSTM architectures, ensemble voting, and negative sampling to improve robustness on noisy scientific data.

The system achieved first place in all three relation extraction subtasks and second place in the named-entity recognition task.
